April Updates, Music Education (ME) Bloggers, MusTech.Net 2.0, And More!

April 26, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: New ME bloggers 2 Comments →

It may seem like MusTech.Net hasn’t posted in awhile, but I can assure you the site has been very active!  We’ve recently completed our transfer and transformation to our new VPS Server (Virtual Private Server) and MusTech.Net 2.0!  This site should now be faster and more user-friendly for all intents and purposes!

FYI, unless you are a technology genius…don’t upgrade your site to a VPS server by yourself!  It might not be rocket science, but it certainly is COMPUTER SCIENCE!  I’ve learned more about back-end APACHE, PHP, and cPANEL than I thought I would have ever wanted to know (P.S. you should be able to double click on any word here to get definitions)!

Here is what has been fixed with the site: EVERYTHING.   Everything at mustech.net should now be functioning; if you notice something that is not working, please use our contact page and let us know about it.

There was a problem with the forums, but I have that fixed that now and it is operational and running.  Also, please note you will have to re-register here to use the forums.  IF YOU WERE SUBSCRIBED TO OUR NEWSLETTER YOU WILL HAVE TO RESUBSCRIBE AS WELL. You can do that by entering your email in the newsletter form in the lower left sidebar of any page.

AND NOW… the NEW ME BLOGGERS…

Note: If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed for the latest news and information. Not Sure What RSS is or how to Subscribe? Click Here!

You will find many more subscription options in the sidebar including our email and newsletter options! Thanks for visiting!

V. Keith Mason Podcasts About A Number Of The ME Blogger Sites

April 02, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: New ME bloggers 1 Comment →

Our great friend, and orator, V. Keith Mason has created a new podcast and mentions a number of the ME Bloggers on their site:

…Also for this week, I did a stroll through a few of the ME Bloggers list over at MusTech.net. I went through the current list and chatted about a few highlights (at least from the ones that caught my attention) from the now “36″ music educators that are now blogging as part of the ME Blogger campaign. I know that Joe is very excited to be over a third of the way to reaching that goal of 100 by the end of this year. Let me know what you think about my take of some of the current ME bloggers…

Stop on over, and give his podcast a listen and find out if he talked about your site, and while your at it, listen and subscribe to the other two dozen as well! Keith is an excellent educator and one of the best music technologists in the field.  You can find this podcast and all his others here:

New ME Bloggers added, Midway Through March 2008

March 22, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: New ME bloggers 6 Comments →

We’re almost through the month of March and I thought I would post the list of new ME Bloggers that have joined our campaign since the completed February listwas published.  We’ve been in a little bit of a lull with the campaign and we need your help to continue to spread the word about our very IMPORTANT campaign to get the word out about our discipline and profession though blogging.

To help in that regard, I’ve recently created a PDF of a Call For Music Education Bloggers.   Please post, re-post, send out newsletters, e-mails, etc. anyway possible.  If you have an MEA site, please post there as well (Speaking of, I will post this on the MENC technology boards soon!).

This is a busy time of the year for us as directors, getting ready for concerts, Spring fever is in the air, and the students are antsy, wanting to be outside.  If you can find some time, don’t forget to comment or post on one of our ME blogger’s sites, there has been a lot of great information generated from our loosely affiliated group of EXPERT bloggers lately.
