Let’s Help Make A Musician And Music Educator The Chief Magic Official Of Disney World

April 08, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: Everything Else Chat, General Chat 2 Comments →

Disney is Magic AND Disney is full of Music….   A friend, music educator, and fellow classmate of mine, Justin Muchoney, has made it to the top 3 in the Walt Disney Dream CMO job contest!   I can think of no better candidate than Justin for this unique opportunity!    Justin has always been a great musician and music educator and loves children and teaching.   I think after you watch his video you will AGREE that he is the ”musician” for the job!

Please vote for Justin and consequently -vote a MUSIC EDUCATOR for the DREAM CMO job!   What better match can there be for Disney and to help get the word out about our profession?

Vote for Justin!

Please take 1 minute and vote for Justin Today (Actually, you can only vote starting April 17th, but check it out today and bookmark it!)!

Incidentally, the careerbuilder.com website that is sponsoring the contest is very cool… Check it out here: www.careerbuilder.com

ME Blogger Update Coming Soon!

April 01, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: Everything Else Chat 1 Comment →

Hello all,

I just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that I am compiling the list of New ME Bloggers and the updated official list for post tomorrow.  Also, I have begun dispersing the Naxos codes for the ME bloggers.   If you have not received yours by the end of the week let me know!

Also, I am updating the OPML file of ME bloggers, updating the pageflakes site and will be listing the ME bloggers by speciality as well!  This all takes a lot of time!  But it’s worth it.

    FYI,

An Anthology Of Important Music Related Annoucements!

March 27, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: Everything Else Chat, Music News Roundup, New ME bloggers 3 Comments →

Hear Ye!   Hear Ye!  Year Ye!   I have a number of announcements that have started to pile up and I’ve decided to condense them all into this Grand Announcement post:

TI:ME PA Conference at West Chester, Pa on April 5th, 2008:

If you are a PA person or live remotely close to West Chester, PA you will want to make it over to West Chester PA for the FIRST annual PA TI:ME conference.  A number of great presenters will be there, including ME Blogger Dr. Tom Rudolph and the keynote presentation will be given by our good Friend, and ALSO ME Blogger, Dr. James Frankel.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make this VERY CLOSE TO ME and SEMINAL conference because I’m conducting the college Jazz Ensemble that very day, here, in Grove City.

PMEA State Conference at Hershey, PA between April 16th and 19th, 2008:

If you live near Hershey, PA, and you love music and chocolate, you need to come to the PA state conference at Hershey.   Like last year, it will be held at the Hershey/Grand Lodge Convention Center located in downtown Hershey, PA.

I will be hosting the Grove City College Music booth along with Dr. Edwin Arnold and other distinguished folks from Grove City.   Please feel free to stop by and chat, grab a pin, and learn about all the things that I’ve “got up my sleeve”!

Like any state conference there will be dozens of things to see, hear, and do.  You can find the full list here: http://pmea.net/conference.html   Again, good friend and colleague, Dr. Tom Rudolph will be performing a number of technology related clinics.

If you are a ME blogger and are hosting something at the PA conference, please let us know!  If you are hosting something at the PA conference and not a ME Blogger, PLEASE JOIN OUR CAMPAIGN TODAY!  Seriously, where else can you get this kind of press so easily? ;)
MusicEdTech & Barbara Freedman Will Present a LIVE broadcast featuring Grammy/Emmy/Clio Award Winner: Robin Batteau on April, 2, 2008 at 2:45 AM 10:45 AM EST:

Phi Beta Mu -International Bandmasters’ Fraternity

February 06, 2008 By: J. Pisano Category: Everything Else Chat 1 Comment →

When I arrived at home today, I had a letter from the Nu chapter of Phi Beta Mu stating that I had been approved for inclusion into their prestigious bandmasters group and would be inducted along with others at the 2008 PMEA conference in Hershey, PA.  I am very excited to be given this honor and to become a part of such a rich tradition.

The mission of Phi Beta Mu is this:

Phi Beta Mu is a non-political, non-profit fraternity organized to promote fellowship among its members, to encourage the building of better bands and the development of better musicians in schools throughout the world, to foster a deeper appreciation for quality wind literature, and to encourage widespread interest in band performance.

What a fantastic mission and a global one at that.  To find out more about Phi Beta Mu, click this link.   I’m curious to know if any of you ME bloggers, Music bloggers, or blog readers are members as well…
