Public Attitudes Toward Public Schools And Using Pinterest For Curating Music Ed. Ideas
I came across two very interesting projects that a few of my students at the college had completed using various Web 2.0 Resources and wanted to share them with everyone.
For an “issues in education” class two of my music education students, Anna Hussey and Carrie Doak, created a fantastic Prezi: “Betting on teachers: The 43rd Annual Phi Delta Kappa/Gallup Poll of the Public’s Attitudes Toward the Public School” based on Gallup Poll Data. You may find highlights of the Gallup Poll data in a PDF here: http://www.pdkintl.org/poll/docs/pdkpoll43_2011.pdf and an embed of the presentation below:

I also have been looking into the Website Pinterest. com… I’m trying to see how it might be used for some of my music and music education endeavors. Last week one of my students, Korrine Carpenter, showed me how she was using Pinterest as part of a classroom project.
Here is a picture from her Pinterest group named: “My Future Classroom” – a collection of ideas for crafty music education teachers:

It’s always exciting to see what our students are using and building with the amazing Web 2.0 tools available to them.
