Joseph (Poulpo or Poolpo) is a French Beatboxer that burst onto the “scene” in 2007 when he was a participant in the French Talent Show, Nouvelle Star.  If you are not familiar with beatboxing, it is a music talent that allows the vocalist to reproduce drums and other techno-sounds and rhythms using their mouth, lips, tongue, or any other part of their face (often a microphone is used to produce other effects or enhance them).

When I first saw this over a year -I was stunned at the ability of Joseph.  While many others have this ability, it was this video that turned me on to just how complex, creative, and imitative beatboxing can truly be.   Interestingly enough almost all videos of Joseph were pulled shortly after they started to appear because of copyright violation and request from the holders to pull them.   These videos are now widely available again and must not be contested anymore…
