Great stuff. A few more than have really helped me grow my blog:

+ Participate in blog carnivals (submit articles and host carnivals) -- The Carnival of Education is ginormous.

+ Focus the topics of your blog. I regularly consolidate categories and tags to make sure everything is along the same stream of thought. It also doesn't hurt to delete off-topic posts from time to time, as doing so may actually help your search rankings.

+ Subscribe to comments on any blog that will let you, and continue the conversation in the comments sections.

+ Have the heart of a teacher, regardless of your subject matter. People get tired of reading rant after rant on your blog. If you are not contributing something positive to their life, they will soon cut you off.

Great tips Prof. Joseph, especially #9. One thing I've noticed is that when I started blogging regularly my traffic improved, so it's really important to keep your blog fresh. And of course be respectful when posting comments, most don't know that when you comment on a blog your IP address can be seen by the blog owner.
