Hey John,

Thanks for reading. As you start your journey, please remember, to always love music! Remember the great experiences that it has given you and build on them! i can honestly tell you I LOVE WHAT I DO EVERYDAY!!!! Even on those days that I say to myself, "what was that all about?" This is when I really sit down and evaluate what the good things were for the day, then I look at the crazy things! Music is an inspiration! Enjoy college, remember, you are there to learn how to teach!! Yes you have to be a pretty darn good player too, but never forget your love of music!!!!! It is the most important part of your life!

Best of luck to you!

Hey!

I'm a high school senior posting this on my last day of school. At the school I go to, we are blessed with an absolutely AMAZING band director. This past year, I have had a tough college selection experience. I started by applying to the conservatory circuit for trumpet, and getting rejected almost everywhere I applied, with the exception of SUNY Purchase. I started reflecting; I realized that I need a good, broad education in college. I also decided performance wasn't the route for me. So I applied late to SUNY Potsdam, and got accepted a few weeks later. I am looking forward so much to going there this fall! Reading stories like this is very inspiring for me. Thanks!
